Cost of new abuja airport international wing

The new Abuja International Airport terminal, also known as the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) Terminal A, is a major infrastructure project in Nigeria. The project was designed to replace the old terminal building and increase the airport's capacity to handle more passengers.

The cost of the new international wing of the Abuja International Airport is estimated to be around ₦213 billion (approximately $570 million USD). The project was funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria and was executed by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

The new terminal building has a total floor area of 56,000 square meters and can accommodate up to 5 million passengers per annum. It features modern facilities and amenities, including:

  1. 24-hour check-in and baggage drop-off counters
  2. 12 departure gates and 12 arrival gates
  3. 12 aerobridges
  4. 4,000 square meters of retail space
  5. 2,000 square meters of food and beverage space
  6. 1,500 square meters of lounge space
  7. 1,000 square meters of office space
  8. 500 square meters of prayer room
  9. 500 square meters of children's play area
  10. 500 square meters of medical center

The new terminal building also features advanced security systems, including biometric identification and surveillance cameras. The airport's apron has been expanded to accommodate more aircraft, and the runway has been rehabilitated to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The project was completed in 2020 and was officially opened by the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, on April 19, 2020. The new terminal building is expected to improve the overall passenger experience and increase the airport's capacity to handle more passengers, making it a major hub for air travel in West Africa.
