Coronavirus germany latest country to close borders
Not quite!
Germany was actually one of the first countries to take measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, but it did not close its borders. Instead, it implemented various travel restrictions and measures to control the spread of the virus.
On March 13, 2020, Germany introduced a travel warning for non-essential travel to high-risk areas, and on March 17, it suspended all travel to and from Italy, which was one of the countries most affected by the virus at the time.
Germany also introduced a range of other measures to slow the spread of the virus, including:
- Closing non-essential shops, restaurants, and bars
- Implementing social distancing measures, such as limiting the number of people allowed in public places and encouraging remote work
- Suspending large events and gatherings
- Introducing mask-wearing requirements in public places
These measures have been gradually relaxed as the situation has improved, but Germany has not closed its borders to international travel.
It's worth noting that some European countries, such as Austria, Denmark, and Norway, did close their borders to non-essential travel at various points during the pandemic, but Germany was not one of them.
