Construction company building tottenham new stadium
The new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, also known as Tottenham Stadium, is a football stadium located in Tottenham, London, England. The stadium was built by a joint venture between two construction companies: AECOM and Mace.
AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm that provides design, build, finance, and operate services for a wide range of projects, including sports stadiums. Mace is a British construction and consultancy company that has worked on numerous high-profile projects, including the construction of the London 2012 Olympic Stadium.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was designed by architects Populous, who have worked on many other sports stadiums around the world, including the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia and the Allianz Arena in Germany.
The construction of the stadium began in March 2016 and was completed in April 2019. The project involved the demolition of the old White Hart Lane stadium, which was built in 1899, and the construction of a new 62,062-seat stadium with a retractable grass pitch and a movable upper tier.
The stadium features a range of innovative design elements, including:
- A retractable grass pitch that can be retracted in just 25 minutes to allow for American football games and other events
- A movable upper tier that can be retracted to provide a more intimate atmosphere for smaller events
- A state-of-the-art LED lighting system that can be adjusted to provide different lighting conditions for different events
- A range of premium seating areas, including a VIP lounge and a club box
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been praised for its innovative design and construction, and has won several awards, including the 2020 Stadium Business Award for Best New Stadium.
