Job Summary:
The Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication and knowledge management strategies to promote UN Women's work and achievements, particularly in the areas of gender equality, women's empowerment, and sustainable development. The incumbent will work closely with the Communications and Knowledge Management Team to design and implement communication and knowledge management plans, products, and services that support UN Women's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication and knowledge management strategies: Design and implement communication and knowledge management plans, products, and services that promote UN Women's work and achievements, and support the organization's strategic objectives.
- Manage and maintain UN Women's knowledge management system: Oversee the development, maintenance, and update of UN Women's knowledge management system, including the organization's intranet, document management system, and other knowledge management tools.
- Produce and disseminate communication materials: Develop and produce a range of communication materials, including reports, briefs, fact sheets, press releases, and social media content, to promote UN Women's work and achievements.
- Manage and coordinate communication campaigns: Plan, coordinate, and implement communication campaigns to promote UN Women's work and achievements, and to raise awareness about gender equality and women's empowerment issues.
- Collaborate with other UN agencies and partners: Work closely with other UN agencies, governments, civil society organizations, and other partners to promote UN Women's work and achievements, and to leverage resources and expertise.
- Monitor and evaluate communication and knowledge management activities: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and knowledge management activities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in communications, knowledge management, or a related field.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of UN Women's work and achievements.
