Code breaker

A code breaker! That sounds like a fun challenge.

To play, I'll think of a code and you'll try to break it. The code will be a simple substitution cipher, where each letter is replaced by a different letter a fixed number of positions down the alphabet.

Here's the code:

GUR PENML XRL VF ZL FRPERG CBFG

Your task is to figure out the substitution pattern and decode the message.

You can start by making an educated guess about the substitution pattern. For example, you might think that each letter is replaced by the letter three positions down the alphabet. Or you might think that each letter is replaced by the letter two positions up the alphabet.

Once you think you know the substitution pattern, you can try decoding the message. You can use a piece of paper and pencil to write down the decoded message, or you can type it out on your computer.

When you think you've decoded the message, you can share it with me and I'll let you know if you're correct or not. If you're correct, I'll give you a hint about the next code. If you're not correct, I'll give you another hint to help you break the code.

Are you ready to start?
