Chrome opens new window every link

That's frustrating!

Chrome has a feature called "Open link in new tab" or "Open link in new window" that can be enabled or disabled. Here are a few possible solutions to help you:

Method 1: Disable "Open link in new tab"

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser window.
  2. Click on "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Scroll down to the "Appearance" section.
  4. Uncheck the box next to "Open links from other apps in the associated app" (this might be the culprit).
  5. Click "Relaunch" to apply the changes.

Method 2: Disable "Open link in new window"

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser window.
  2. Click on "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Scroll down to the "Advanced" section.
  4. Click on "System" from the left-hand menu.
  5. Uncheck the box next to "Open links in new window" (this might be the issue).
  6. Click "Relaunch" to apply the changes.

Method 3: Use a Chrome extension

There are several Chrome extensions available that can help you control how links are opened. Here are a few options:

  1. "Link Open Options" - This extension allows you to customize how links are opened, including the option to open them in the same tab.
  2. "Open Link in Same Tab" - This extension forces links to open in the same tab, rather than a new one.
  3. "Link Manager" - This extension provides more advanced link management options, including the ability to customize how links are opened.

To install a Chrome extension, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Search for the extension you want to install.
  3. Click the "Add to Chrome" button.
  4. Click "Add extension" in the pop-up window.

Method 4: Check your browser settings

If none of the above methods work, you can try checking your browser settings to see if there's a specific setting that's causing the issue. To do this:

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser window.
  2. Click on "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Scroll down to the "Advanced" section.
  4. Click on "Reset and clean up Google Chrome" from the left-hand menu.
  5. Follow the prompts to reset your browser settings.

I hope one of these methods helps you resolve the issue!
