Chelsea transfer ban cut by cas club free to sign players in january
I think there may be some misinformation here!
Chelsea FC did indeed receive a transfer ban from FIFA in February 2019, which was imposed due to breaches of the organization's regulations regarding the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18.
However, in December 2020, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially lifted the ban, allowing Chelsea to register new players in the January 2021 transfer window. The ban was reduced to a six-month suspension, with the club also fined £460,000.
So, to clarify, Chelsea is not "club free to sign players in January" as they are still subject to the reduced transfer ban and will need to comply with the terms of the CAS ruling.
