Characters of a new life in christ
What a wonderful topic! When we come to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we experience a transformation that changes us from the inside out. Here are some of the key characters that emerge in our new life in Christ:
- New Creation: We are no longer the same person we used to be. We are a new creation in Christ, with a new identity and a new purpose (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- Child of God: We are now children of God, adopted into His family and given the privilege of calling Him our Father (John 1:12, Galatians 3:26).
- Saint: We are no longer sinners, but saints, set apart for God's purposes and called to live a life that honors Him (Romans 1:7, Ephesians 1:1).
- Disciple: We are disciples of Jesus Christ, learning from Him and following His teachings (Matthew 28:18-20, John 8:31).
- Ambassador: We are ambassadors of Christ, representing Him to the world and sharing the Good News of His love and salvation (2 Corinthians 5:20).
- Servant: We are servants of Christ, living to serve Him and others, and using our gifts and talents to glorify Him (Matthew 20:28, Romans 12:1-2).
- Overcomer: We are overcomers, empowered by Christ to overcome sin, temptation, and adversity (1 John 5:4-5, Revelation 12:11).
- Heir: We are heirs of God's kingdom, inheriting eternal life and all the blessings that come with it (Romans 8:17, Galatians 3:29).
- Friend: We are friends of God, enjoying a personal relationship with Him and experiencing His love and guidance in our daily lives (John 15:15, James 2:23).
- Witness: We are witnesses of Christ, sharing our testimony and the Good News of His love and salvation with others (Acts 1:8, 1 Peter 3:15).
These characters are not just roles we play, but they are who we are in Christ. As we walk with Him and follow His teachings, we become more and more like Him, and these characters become a natural part of our daily lives.
