Catholic readings from new lectionary for 28 march 2020

According to the New Lectionary, the Catholic readings for March 28, 2020 are:

Saturday of the 4th Week of Lent

First Reading: Isaiah 43:16-21 Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 126 Second Reading: Philippians 3:13-4:3 Gospel: John 8:1-11

Here are the readings in English:

First Reading: Isaiah 43:16-21 16 Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters, 17 who brings out chariot and horse, army and warrior; but they lie down, they cannot rise, extinguished, quenched like a wick. 18 Do not remember the former things or consider the things of old. 19 I am about to do something new. Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a pathway in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. 20 The wild animals will celebrate before me, the birds of the sky will their voices raise. 21 Sing for joy, O heavens, for he who made them will come, for he will come to save the earth.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 126 1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of his people, 2 then Jerusalem became a place of praise, 3 when the Lord restored the fortunes of his people, 4 then our mouth was filled with laughter, 5 then our tongue became joyous. 6 Then they said among the nations, 7 "The Lord has done great things for them." 8 The Lord has done great things for us; 9 we are glad. 10 Restore our fortunes, Lord, 11 like the streams in the Negev. 12 Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. 13 While going through the valley of weeping, 14 they will make it a place of springs. 15 The harvest will come there, 16 and they will sing there, they will plant there the vine, 17 with singing they will sing there, 18 and they will plant there the vine 19 with singing they will sing there.

Second Reading: Philippians 3:13-4:3 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have already obtained this. Whatever I shall attain, I shall not consider as having been already obtained because of our Lord Jesus Christ. 14 For I strive to possess what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, which is the Church. 15 I have been crucified with Christ; yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me; and the life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and handed himself over for me. 16 I do not consider that the law is a thing of shame to me, but I am one under the law of Christ. 17 Would that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my own people, my kindred, my family! 18 For them I am eager to have some spiritual part, to be put right what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, which is the Church. 19 I will know how to be in my very self with confidence. With confidence I can have a conscience that bears witness to me in the Holy Spirit. 20 For I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God's love in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Gospel: John 8:1-11 1 Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again to the temple area all the while praying; and Jesus was left alone, and he began to pray. 3 When he came to the temple area, he saw how the merchants were selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and the money-changers were sitting at their tables. 4 And he made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 5 And he told those who were selling the doves, "Take these out of here, and stop making my Father's house a marketplace." 6 His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will consume me." 7 At this the Jews answered and said to him, "What sign can you show us for doing this?" 8 Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up." 9 The Jews said, "This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?" 10 But he was speaking about the temple of his body. 11 Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture and the word Jesus had spoken.
