Cant find archicad library in new project

Frustrating!

Don't worry, I'm here to help you troubleshoot. Here are some steps to help you find the ArchiCAD library in a new project:

  1. Check the default library location: ArchiCAD stores its libraries in a specific location. By default, the library location is:
    • Windows: C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\ArchiCAD [version]\Library
    • macOS: Applications/Graphisoft/ArchiCAD [version]/Library
    • Replace [version] with your actual ArchiCAD version number.
  2. Verify the library path in ArchiCAD: Open ArchiCAD and go to File > Options > Library. Check if the library path is set correctly. If it's not, you can update it to the default location or a custom location of your choice.
  3. Check if the library is corrupted: Sometimes, the library can become corrupted, causing issues. Try deleting the library and re-creating it. To do this:
    • Go to File > Options > Library and click on the Delete button next to the library path.
    • Restart ArchiCAD and let it re-create the library.
  4. Check for any conflicts with other software: If you have other software installed that uses similar library paths, it might be causing conflicts. Try closing other software that uses similar library paths and see if the issue persists.
  5. Try resetting ArchiCAD's settings: Sometimes, resetting ArchiCAD's settings can resolve issues like this. To do this:
    • Go to File > Options > Reset and click on Reset to Default.
    • Restart ArchiCAD and see if the issue is resolved.
  6. Check the ArchiCAD documentation: If none of the above steps work, you can refer to the ArchiCAD documentation for more information on troubleshooting library issues.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to contact Graphisoft's support team or a local authorized reseller for further assistance.
