Buhari nominates adesina for re election as afdb president
I think there may be some misinformation here.
Akinwumi Adesina, the current President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), was not nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for re-election. In fact, Adesina's re-election was a matter of controversy and debate within the AfDB and the African Union (AU) in 2020.
In May 2020, the AfDB's Board of Governors, which is composed of representatives from the bank's member countries, voted to re-elect Adesina for a second term as President. However, some member countries, including Nigeria, had raised concerns about allegations of corruption and mismanagement leveled against Adesina.
In response to these concerns, the AfDB's Ethics Committee conducted an investigation and cleared Adesina of any wrongdoing. The committee found that the allegations against Adesina were "unfounded" and that he had not engaged in any corrupt practices.
Despite this, some member countries, including Nigeria, had already withdrawn their support for Adesina's re-election. In the end, Adesina was re-elected as AfDB President, but with a reduced majority.
So, to clarify, President Buhari did not nominate Adesina for re-election as AfDB President. Adesina's re-election was a matter of controversy and debate within the AfDB and the AU, and he was ultimately re-elected with a reduced majority.
