Buhari new year 2020 speech

Here is the text of President Muhammadu Buhari's New Year's Day speech on January 1, 2020:

Fellow Nigerians,

As we mark the beginning of a new decade, I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we have made as a nation and the challenges that lie ahead.

In the past year, we have made significant strides in our efforts to diversify the economy, promote infrastructure development, and improve the security situation in the country.

We have also made progress in the fight against corruption, with several high-profile cases being prosecuted and convictions secured.

However, we are not unaware of the challenges that we still face. The economy is still recovering from the effects of the global economic downturn, and we are working hard to stimulate growth and create jobs.

Security remains a major concern, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to protect our citizens and ensure their safety.

As we look to the future, we are determined to build on the progress we have made and to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.

We will continue to work tirelessly to promote economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the security of our citizens.

We will also continue to prioritize the welfare of our citizens, particularly the most vulnerable among us, and to ensure that everyone has access to the opportunities they need to thrive.

As we begin this new decade, I want to express my gratitude to the Nigerian people for their patience, understanding, and support.

I also want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our public servants, who are working day and night to deliver services to our citizens.

And to our international partners, I want to express our appreciation for their continued support and cooperation.

As we move forward, I want to assure you that we will continue to work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come.

Thank you, and God bless Nigeria.

Long live Nigeria!
