Buhari appoints new heads of parastatals

A recent development in Nigeria!

As of my knowledge cutoff, President Muhammadu Buhari has indeed appointed new heads for some parastatals in Nigeria. Here are a few examples:

  1. Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC): Mele Kyari was appointed as the Group Managing Director of NNPC in August 2019, replacing Maikanti Baru.
  2. Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA): Hadiza Bala Usman was reappointed as the Managing Director of NPA in August 2020, for a second term of four years.
  3. Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC): Umar Danbatta was reappointed as the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NCC in August 2020, for a second term of five years.
  4. Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS): Muhammad Nami was appointed as the Chairman of FIRS in August 2020, replacing Babatunde Fowler.
  5. Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC): Sanusi Garba was appointed as the Chairman of NERC in August 2020, replacing James Momoh.
  6. Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA): Dr. Bashir Jamoh was appointed as the Director-General of NIMASA in August 2020, replacing Dakuku Peterside.
  7. National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC): Mojisola Adeyeye was reappointed as the Director-General of NAFDAC in August 2020, for a second term of four years.

Please note that these appointments may have been made subsequent to my knowledge cutoff, and there may be other appointments that have been made as well.
