Title: Breaking New Grounds: Embracing the Unknown

Text: Joshua 3:1-17, Hebrews 11:8-12

Introduction:

Have you ever felt like you're stuck in a rut? Like you're going through the motions of life, but not really making progress or experiencing growth? Maybe you're feeling like you're in a season of stagnation, and you're not sure how to break free.

Today, we're going to explore the story of Joshua and the Israelites as they prepare to enter the Promised Land. We'll see how they had to break new grounds, both literally and figuratively, in order to experience the blessings of God.

The Challenge of Breaking New Grounds:

Breaking new grounds is never easy. It requires courage, faith, and a willingness to take risks. When we're faced with the unknown, it's natural to feel afraid or uncertain. But God is calling us to step out in faith, to trust in His goodness and provision, and to break new grounds in our lives.

In Joshua 3, we see the Israelites preparing to cross the Jordan River and enter the Promised Land. This was a monumental moment in their history, and it required them to trust in God's power and provision. They had to break new grounds, both literally and figuratively, in order to experience the blessings of God.

The Power of Faith:

Faith is the key to breaking new grounds. When we trust in God's goodness and provision, we can overcome any obstacle or challenge. In Hebrews 11:8-12, we see the example of Abraham, who was called by God to leave his home and family and travel to a new land. Abraham didn't know what the future held, but he trusted in God's promise and provision.

The Blessings of Breaking New Grounds:

When we break new grounds, we can expect to experience the blessings of God. In Joshua 3, we see the Israelites experience a miraculous crossing of the Jordan River, and they enter the Promised Land with joy and celebration. When we break new grounds, we can expect to experience:

Conclusion:

Breaking new grounds is never easy, but it's always worth it. When we trust in God's goodness and provision, we can overcome any obstacle or challenge. We can experience the blessings of God and live a life of purpose and direction.

So, I want to leave you with a challenge today. What area of your life do you need to break new grounds? Is it a new job, a new relationship, a new ministry, or a new challenge?
