Blitzboks book place in quarters
The Blitzboks, South Africa's national sevens rugby team, have secured their place in the quarterfinals of the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 in Cape Town, South Africa.
After a thrilling day of pool play, the Blitzboks finished top of Pool C with three wins from three matches, scoring 64 points and conceding just 24.
In their final pool match, the Blitzboks defeated Argentina 24-7, with tries from Angelo Davids, Selvyn Davids, and Kurt-Lee Arendse.
The Blitzboks will now face Fiji in the quarterfinals, which will take place on Saturday, September 17, at 14:30 local time (12:30 GMT).
The team will be looking to make it to the semifinals and potentially the final, where they can win their fourth Rugby World Cup Sevens title.
The Blitzboks have been in impressive form leading up to the tournament, winning the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series title and the Commonwealth Games gold medal earlier this year.
The team will be looking to continue their winning streak and make their fans proud in front of a home crowd in Cape Town.
