Bayelsa guber poll apc recruiting bandits to rig election pdp youths allege

A sensitive and timely topic!

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been accused by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths in Bayelsa State of recruiting bandits to rig the upcoming governorship election in the state.

According to reports, the PDP youths made this allegation during a press conference held in Yenagoa, the state capital, where they claimed that the APC was planning to use thugs and armed men to disrupt the electoral process and manipulate the outcome of the election.

The PDP youths alleged that the APC was recruiting bandits from neighboring states, including Rivers, Delta, and Edo, to carry out the rigging. They also claimed that the APC was planning to use fake security personnel and INEC officials to facilitate the rigging.

The PDP youths called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take immediate action to prevent the alleged rigging, and urged the security agencies to be vigilant and ensure that the election is conducted peacefully and freely.

The APC has, however, denied the allegations, describing them as baseless and unfounded. The party's spokesperson, Mr. Doifie Buokoribo, said that the PDP was resorting to cheap propaganda and lies to distract from its own weaknesses and failures.

The Bayelsa State Police Command has also denied the allegations, saying that it has not received any intelligence report suggesting that the APC was recruiting bandits to rig the election.

The Bayelsa State Governorship election is scheduled to hold on November 16, 2020. The election is expected to be keenly contested between the APC and the PDP, with both parties fielding strong candidates.

It is essential for all stakeholders, including the electoral commission, security agencies, and political parties, to ensure that the election is conducted peacefully and in accordance with the law. Any attempt to rig the election or disrupt the electoral process will be met with strong resistance and condemnation from the public.
