Barkindo new opec head takes work secretary general

I think there may be some confusion here!

Barkindo, not Barkindo new OPEC head, is actually the current Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). He has been in this position since August 2016.

Muhammad Sanusi Barkindo, a Nigerian national, was appointed as the Secretary General of OPEC in August 2016, succeeding Abdullah al-Badri. Prior to his appointment, Barkindo had a long career in the Nigerian oil industry, including serving as the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

So, to clarify, Barkindo is not a "new" OPEC head, but rather the current Secretary General of OPEC, a position he has held since 2016.
