Barcelona new manager 2017

The new manager of FC Barcelona in 2017 was Ernesto Valverde. He was appointed as the manager of the club on May 21, 2017, and took over from Luis Enrique, who had left the club after three seasons in charge. Valverde had previously managed Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos, and had also played for Barcelona as a player from 1988 to 1990. During his first season in charge, Valverde led Barcelona to a La Liga title and the Copa del Rey, and also reached the Champions League quarterfinals. He was sacked by the club in January 2020 after a poor start to the season.
