Barcelona new coach 2018
The new coach of FC Barcelona in 2018 was Ernesto Valverde. He was appointed as the head coach of the club on May 21, 2017, and took over from Luis Enrique, who had left the club after three seasons in charge.
Valverde had previously managed Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos, and had also coached the Spanish national team. He was known for his tactical acumen and ability to get the best out of his players.
During his first season at Barcelona, Valverde led the team to a La Liga title and the Copa del Rey, as well as reaching the Champions League quarterfinals. He was praised for his ability to adapt to the team's playing style and for his tactical decisions during matches.
Valverde remained in charge of Barcelona for two more seasons, leading the team to another La Liga title in 2019 and reaching the Champions League semifinals in 2019. He was eventually replaced by Quique Setién in January 2020.
