According to reports, the new MD of BoI is Mr. Olukayode Pitan. He was appointed to the position in August 2020, succeeding Mr. Waheed Olagunju, who had been the MD/CEO of the bank since 2017.

Mr. Pitan has a rich background in banking and finance, with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Prior to his appointment as MD of BoI, he was the Executive Director, Corporate Banking at First Bank of Nigeria Limited, one of the largest banks in the country.

Under his leadership, BoI is expected to continue to play a key role in promoting industrial development and economic growth in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, agriculture, and infrastructure development.
