Ayefele sues oyo state government over planned demolition of his music house

A popular Nigerian musician, Yinka Ayefele, has sued the Oyo State Government over its plan to demolish his music house, Fresh FM, in Ibadan.

According to reports, the Oyo State Government had served Ayefele a quit notice, demanding that he vacates the property, which is located along Challenge Road, Ibadan, to make way for a new road project.

Ayefele, who is the owner of Fresh FM, a popular radio station in Ibadan, has been operating from the music house for over 20 years. He has been using the property to host his music studio, radio station, and other business ventures.

In his suit, Ayefele is seeking an injunction to stop the government from demolishing his music house, as well as compensation for the alleged damage to his property and business.

Ayefele's lawyer, Mr. Olayinka Bolanle, said that his client has been operating the music house in accordance with the laws of the land and has not breached any agreement with the government.

"We are seeking an injunction to stop the government from demolishing the property, as well as compensation for the damage to our client's property and business," Bolanle said.

The Oyo State Government had earlier claimed that the music house was built on a government land and that Ayefele's occupation of the property was illegal.

However, Ayefele has denied the claim, saying that he has all the necessary documents to prove that he has been operating the music house legally.

The case is currently pending in court, and a date has been fixed for the hearing.

This development has sparked a lot of controversy in Ibadan, with many people expressing support for Ayefele and calling on the government to reconsider its decision to demolish the music house.

Ayefele's music house is a popular landmark in Ibadan, and many people have expressed concern that the demolition of the property would lead to the loss of jobs and economic hardship for the people who depend on the music house for their livelihood.

The case is being closely watched by many Nigerians, who are hoping that the court will rule in favor of Ayefele and save his music house from demolition.
