Auchi Polytechnic Expels SUG President, 2 Others

The Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State has expelled its Students' Union Government (SUG) President, Comrade Omoregie Iyoha, and two other students for allegedly engaging in anti-institutional activities.

According to a statement issued by the institution's Public Relations Officer, Mr. Edionwe Sunday, the students were expelled after a thorough investigation into allegations of misconduct and gross indiscipline.

The statement said that the students were found guilty of engaging in activities that were detrimental to the peace and stability of the institution, and that their expulsion was in line with the institution's rules and regulations.

The statement read in part: "The management of Auchi Polytechnic has expelled Comrade Omoregie Iyoha, the President of the Students' Union Government, and two other students, Mr. Osazuwa Osasuyi and Mr. Osemwengie Osasuyi, for engaging in anti-institutional activities.

"The students were found guilty of engaging in activities that were detrimental to the peace and stability of the institution, and their expulsion is in line with the institution's rules and regulations.

"The management of the institution wishes to assure the students and the general public that it will not tolerate any form of indiscipline or misconduct, and that it will continue to take all necessary steps to maintain the peace and stability of the institution."

The expulsion of the SUG President and the two other students has sparked controversy on campus, with some students calling for their reinstatement, while others have expressed support for the institution's decision.

The Auchi Polytechnic is one of the oldest and most prestigious polytechnics in Nigeria, and it has a reputation for producing highly skilled and educated graduates.
