Atiku denies knowledge of gofundme for his election petition

It seems like there's a developing story!

According to reports, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections, has denied knowledge of a GoFundMe campaign set up to raise funds for his election petition against the outcome of the election.

The GoFundMe campaign, which was set up by an individual claiming to be a supporter of Atiku, aimed to raise $1 million to support the former Vice President's legal battle against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, Atiku's campaign team has denied any involvement or knowledge of the campaign, stating that it was not authorized by the former Vice President or his campaign organization.

In a statement, the Atiku campaign team said: "We are not aware of any GoFundMe campaign set up to raise funds for our election petition. We are not aware of any individual or group claiming to be raising funds for our legal battle. We are focused on our legal battle and will not be distracted by such frivolous claims."

It's worth noting that the authenticity of the GoFundMe campaign has not been verified, and it's unclear whether the campaign was actually set up by a genuine supporter or someone trying to capitalize on Atiku's legal battle.

What do you think about this development? Should Atiku's campaign team be concerned about the potential implications of such a campaign?
