Giants' Daniel Jones Named NFC East Player of the Week

East Rutherford, NJ - New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been named the NFC East Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the team's 27-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday.

Jones completed 21 of 32 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Giants to their second consecutive victory. He also rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown, making him the first Giants quarterback to rush for a touchdown in consecutive games since Eli Manning in 2011.

"I'm just trying to do my job and help the team win," Jones said. "It's an honor to be recognized as the Player of the Week, but I couldn't have done it without my teammates and coaches."

The Giants' victory over the Eagles was their first in Philadelphia since 2013, and it marked the team's first sweep of the Eagles since 2012. The win also improved the Giants' record to 3-2, keeping them in the hunt for a playoff spot in the NFC East.

Jones' performance was all the more impressive considering he was playing with a sore ankle, which he injured in the team's previous game against the Washington Redskins. Despite the injury, Jones was able to make several key plays, including a 22-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Sterling Shepard in the fourth quarter.

"Daniel is a tough guy, and he's always going to give it his all," Giants coach Joe Judge said. "He's a leader on this team, and he's making plays when it matters most."

The Giants will look to build on their momentum when they face the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
