Arteta it will be very hard for arsenal to finish in top four
A bold statement! While it's true that Arsenal have faced some challenges under Mikel Arteta's management, I'd like to offer a more nuanced perspective.
Here are a few reasons why I think Arsenal might still have a chance to finish in the top four:
- Arteta's progress: Despite some ups and downs, Arteta has made significant progress in his first season as manager. He's implemented a new playing style, improved the team's defensive solidity, and developed a stronger squad cohesion.
- Squad depth: Arsenal have a relatively strong squad, with a good balance of experienced players and young talents. They've also made some shrewd signings in the transfer market, such as Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhães.
- Home form: The Gunners have been excellent at the Emirates Stadium, with a strong record against top-six teams. If they can maintain their home form, they'll be well-placed to pick up points against their rivals.
- Injuries: Arsenal have been plagued by injuries this season, particularly in defense. However, with some key players returning to fitness, they might be able to strengthen their squad and improve their overall performance.
- Other teams' struggles: The Premier League is notoriously unpredictable, and other teams vying for the top four spots (e.g., Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham) have their own issues to contend with. Arsenal might be able to capitalize on these teams' struggles and gain ground.
Of course, there are still many challenges ahead for Arsenal, and they'll need to overcome them to secure a top-four finish. However, I believe they have a decent chance of doing so, especially if they can maintain their consistency and improve their away form.
What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with my assessment?
