Arsenal new formation
Arsenal's new formation!
As of the 2022-23 season, Arsenal's manager Mikel Arteta has been experimenting with a few different formations, but here's a common one:
4-2-3-1 Formation:
- Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale
- Defenders:
- Right-back: Takehiro Tomiyasu
- Center-back: William Saliba
- Center-back: Gabriel Magalhaes
- Left-back: Oleksandr Zinchenko
- Defensive Midfielders:
- Deep-lying playmaker: Thomas Partey
- Box-to-box midfielder: Granit Xhaka
- Attacking Midfielders:
- Right-winger: Bukayo Saka
- Central attacking midfielder: Martin Odegaard
- Left-winger: Gabriel Martinelli
- Striker: Eddie Nketiah
This formation allows Arsenal to:
- Provide defensive solidity with a strong back four and two defensive midfielders.
- Control the midfield with Partey and Xhaka, who can both win the ball back and distribute it effectively.
- Offer width and pace on the wings with Saka and Martinelli, who can stretch the opposition's defense.
- Create scoring opportunities with Odegaard's creativity and vision in the attacking midfield role.
- Provide a clinical finisher up front with Nketiah, who has shown his ability to score important goals.
Of course, formations are always subject to change, and Arteta may experiment with different variations depending on the opposition and the players' form.
