Armenia new prime minister
As of March 2021, the Prime Minister of Armenia is Nikol Pashinyan. He has been serving in this position since May 2018.
Nikol Pashinyan is a politician and journalist who was born in 1975 in Ijevan, Armenia. He studied journalism at Yerevan State University and later worked as a journalist and editor for several Armenian newspapers.
Pashinyan entered politics in the early 2000s and became involved with the Armenian opposition movement. He was a key figure in the 2018 Armenian revolution, which led to the resignation of then-Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan and the election of Pashinyan as his successor.
As Prime Minister, Pashinyan has implemented a number of reforms aimed at increasing transparency and accountability in government, as well as improving the economy and reducing corruption. He has also been a vocal advocate for Armenian interests in the region, particularly with regard to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Azerbaijan.
It's worth noting that the Prime Minister of Armenia is the head of government and is responsible for implementing the country's domestic and foreign policies. The Prime Minister is also the leader of the country's government and is responsible for appointing and dismissing ministers.
