Apple news app missing
Frustrating!
If the Apple News app is missing from your device, here are some troubleshooting steps to help you recover it:
Check if it's hidden
- On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Home screen and swipe left to right to reveal the App Library.
- Look for the News app in the App Library. If you find it, you can add it to your Home screen by tapping the "Add to Home Screen" button.
Check for updates
- Go to the App Store app.
- Tap on your profile icon in the top right corner.
- Tap on "Purchased" and then "Not on This iPhone/iPad" at the top.
- Scroll down and look for the News app. If it's available, tap the "Update" button next to it.
Reinstall the app
- Go to the App Store app.
- Search for "News" in the search bar.
- Tap on the "Get" button next to the News app.
- Tap "Install" to reinstall the app.
Check for conflicts with other apps
- Try closing other news-related apps, such as Apple News+, to see if they're interfering with the News app.
- If you have any news-related widgets on your Home screen, try removing them to see if they're causing the issue.
Reset your device
- If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your device. This will erase all content and settings, so be sure to back up your data before doing so.
- Go to Settings > General > Reset and select "Erase All Content and Settings."
- Follow the prompts to complete the reset process.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to contact Apple Support for further assistance.
