The team, comprising students and faculty members from Anna University's Department of Aerospace Engineering, designed and built the drone, which is equipped with advanced navigation systems and a high-capacity battery.
The record-breaking flight was conducted on March 14-15, 2023, at the Anna University campus in Chennai, India. The drone, named "Anna-1," took off at 10:00 AM on March 14 and landed safely at 1:03 PM on March 15, setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest duration of a UAV flight.
