Algeria coach resigns after early afcon exit #
It looks like Algeria's coach, Djamel Belmadi, has resigned after the team's early exit from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Belmadi, who has been in charge of the Algerian national team since 2018, led the team to the 2019 AFCON title, but his team's performance in the 2021 tournament was disappointing. Algeria was eliminated in the round of 16 after losing to Ivory Coast on penalties.
Belmadi's resignation comes as a shock to many, as he had been expected to continue as coach of the team. However, it's not uncommon for coaches to resign after a disappointing tournament performance.
It will be interesting to see who takes over as coach of the Algerian national team next.
