Akeredolu signs amotekun bill into law
I think there may be some confusion here.
Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is the Governor of Ondo State in Nigeria, not the President of Nigeria. Therefore, he cannot sign a bill into law that affects the entire country.
Amotekun is a security outfit established by the Southwest Governors' Forum, comprising the governors of Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti states. The outfit was created to combat kidnapping, banditry, and other security challenges in the region.
The Amotekun bill was signed into law by the governors of the Southwest states, not by the President or the Governor of Ondo State. Each state has its own legislative assembly, which passes laws that are specific to that state.
So, to clarify, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu did not sign the Amotekun bill into law. The bill was signed into law by the governors of the Southwest states, as part of their efforts to address security challenges in the region.
