Aisha ahmad new cbn deputy governor
Aisha Ahmad has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). She was announced as the new Deputy Governor on July 3, 2017, and took office on July 5, 2017.
Aisha Ahmad is a Nigerian banker and financial expert with over 20 years of experience in the banking industry. She has worked with several banks in Nigeria, including First Bank of Nigeria, Stanbic IBTC Bank, and Diamond Bank.
Prior to her appointment as Deputy Governor of the CBN, Ahmad was the Executive Director, Risk Management and Compliance at Diamond Bank. She has also served as the Head of Corporate Banking at Stanbic IBTC Bank and as the Head of Risk Management at First Bank of Nigeria.
Ahmad holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Lagos and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Nigeria and a Certified Risk Manager.
As Deputy Governor of the CBN, Ahmad is responsible for overseeing the bank's risk management and compliance functions, as well as its financial inclusion and payment systems initiatives. She is also a member of the CBN's Monetary Policy Committee, which sets monetary policy for the country.
