African union endorses nigerias adesina as afdb president for second term
I think there may be some confusion here.
The African Development Bank (AfDB) is a pan-African development bank that aims to promote economic growth and development in Africa. The President of the AfDB is not the same as the President of the African Union (AU).
The African Union is a continental organization that aims to promote unity, solidarity, and cooperation among its member states. The AU has its own President, who is currently Macky Sall, the President of Senegal.
As for the AfDB, the current President is Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, who was first elected in 2015 and re-elected in 2020 for a second term. His second term is set to expire in 2025.
So, to clarify, the African Union has not endorsed Dr. Adesina as AfDB President for a second term, as the AU is not involved in the election of the AfDB President. The AfDB's President is elected by its Board of Governors, which consists of representatives from its member countries.
I hope this clears up any confusion!
