Adhkaar for a new thing

Here are some common adhkaar (supplications) that can be recited when acquiring a new thing:

  1. When buying something:
    • "Alhamdu lillah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah. Wa 'ala ayyi hal 'amalun hasbun Allahu wa ni'ma al-wakil" (Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. And whatever good deeds I do, it is all due to Allah's will and His guidance).
    • "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Wa maa khalaqta min shay'in illa li-tukaffiru 'anhu" (Verily, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. And I did not create this thing except to use it and then abandon it).
  2. When receiving a gift:
    • "Alhamdu lillah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah. Wa shukraan jami'an" (Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. And thank you very much).
    • "Jazak Allahu khairan" (May Allah reward you with good).
  3. When acquiring a new skill or knowledge:
    • "Alhamdu lillah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah. Wa shukraan jami'an" (Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. And thank you very much).
    • "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Wa maa khalaqta min shay'in illa li-tukaffiru 'anhu" (Verily, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. And I did not acquire this knowledge except to use it and then abandon it).
  4. When acquiring a new possession:

It's important to remember that these adhkaar are not meant to be recited as a way to seek blessings or good fortune, but rather as a way to express gratitude and humility to Allah for the blessings He has bestowed upon us.
