Adding news to google alert
To add a news topic to Google Alerts, follow these steps:
- Go to Google Alerts website: www.google.com/alerts
- Click on the "Create an alert" button.
- Enter the topic you want to track in the search bar. You can use keywords, phrases, or specific names.
- Choose the type of results you want to receive:
- News: Receive news articles and stories related to your topic.
- Web: Receive results from the entire web, including blogs, forums, and more.
- Blogs: Receive results from blogs only.
- Videos: Receive results from YouTube and other video sharing sites.
- Discussions: Receive results from online forums and discussion groups.
- Set the frequency of the alerts:
- As-it-happens: Receive alerts as soon as new content is published.
- Once a day: Receive a daily summary of new content.
- Once a week: Receive a weekly summary of new content.
- Choose the language and region:
- Language: Select the language you want to receive alerts in.
- Region: Select the region you want to receive alerts from.
- Add your email address: Enter the email address where you want to receive the alerts.
- Click on the "Create alert" button.
You can also customize your alerts by adding additional settings, such as:
- Exclude words: Remove specific words or phrases from the search results.
- Include or exclude specific websites: Only receive alerts from specific websites or exclude them from the results.
- Set a specific date range: Receive alerts only for a specific date range.
Once you've set up your alert, you'll receive emails with the latest news and updates on your topic. You can also manage your alerts by clicking on the "Manage alerts" button on the Google Alerts page.
