Add new shape to smart art
A fun task!
To add a new shape to SmartArt in Microsoft Office, follow these steps:
For Microsoft Office 2010 and later versions:
- Open your document or presentation and go to the slide where you want to add the new shape.
- Click on the "Insert" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the "Illustrations" group and then click on "SmartArt" in the drop-down menu.
- Select the type of SmartArt graphic you want to create (e.g., "Process", "Cycle", "Hierarchy", etc.).
- Click on the "Add Shape" button in the "Design" tab of the SmartArt Tools pane.
- In the "Add Shape" dialog box, select the new shape you want to add from the list of available shapes (e.g., "Arrow", "Diamond", "Hexagon", etc.).
- Click "OK" to add the new shape to your SmartArt graphic.
For Microsoft Office 2007:
- Open your document or presentation and go to the slide where you want to add the new shape.
- Click on the "Insert" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the "Illustrations" group and then click on "SmartArt" in the drop-down menu.
- Select the type of SmartArt graphic you want to create (e.g., "Process", "Cycle", "Hierarchy", etc.).

Tips:
- You can also add new shapes by dragging and dropping them from the "Shapes" pane in the "Design" tab of the SmartArt Tools pane.
- You can customize the appearance of your new shape by using the various formatting options available in the "Design" tab.
- You can also use the "Format" tab to change the shape's size, color, and other properties.
