Act of contrition new version

Here is a revised version of the Act of Contrition:

"O God, my Creator and Redeemer, I am deeply sorry for my sins, which have wounded your infinite goodness and love. I am sorry for the times I have disobeyed your commandments, and for the times I have failed to love and serve you as I should.

I am sorry for the hurt and pain I have caused to others, and for the ways in which I have fallen short of your expectations. I am sorry for the times I have doubted your presence and guidance in my life, and for the times I have turned away from your loving care.

I offer you my sincerest apologies, and I beg for your mercy and forgiveness. I know that I am not worthy of your love, but I trust in your infinite mercy and your promise to forgive me if I come to you with a contrite heart.

Help me to turn away from my sinful ways, and to follow your path of righteousness. Give me the strength and courage to resist temptation, and to live a life that is pleasing to you.

I pray that you will accept my act of contrition, and that you will grant me the gift of your peace and your love. Amen."

This revised version of the Act of Contrition is written in a more contemporary style, while still maintaining the traditional structure and themes of the original prayer. It is meant to be a personal and heartfelt expression of sorrow and repentance, and can be used as a model for individual prayer or as a guide for group prayer.
