A new wine kjv

A "new wine" in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible refers to a metaphorical expression used by Jesus in the New Testament. In Matthew 9:17, Mark 2:22, and Luke 5:37-38, Jesus says:

"No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the old, and there is a tearing of the new from the rent. And if any man shall put new wine into old bottles, the bottles will break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they that have put new wine into new bottles, both the wine and the bottles are preserved."

In this passage, Jesus is using a common practice of his time to illustrate a spiritual truth. The "new wine" represents the spiritual truths and teachings of God, while the "old garment" and "old bottles" represent the old ways of thinking and the old covenant.

Jesus is saying that just as new wine cannot be poured into old, worn-out containers without causing them to break, so too the spiritual truths of God cannot be poured into the old, worn-out ways of thinking and living without causing them to break. The old ways are no longer sufficient to contain the new wine of God's truth, and a new way of thinking and living is needed to accommodate the new wine.

In this sense, the "new wine" represents the new covenant and the new way of living that Jesus is introducing, which is characterized by a deeper understanding of God's love and a more intimate relationship with Him.
