9mobile new owners

You're referring to the recent changes in ownership of 9mobile (formerly Etisalat Nigeria).

In August 2017, Etisalat Nigeria, the fourth-largest telecommunications operator in Nigeria, was facing financial difficulties and was on the verge of being taken over by its lenders. To avoid a takeover, the company's shareholders agreed to sell a majority stake in the business to a new consortium of investors.

The new owners of 9mobile are a group of Nigerian and international investors, led by Teleology Holdings Limited, a Nigerian company. The consortium acquired a 90% stake in 9mobile, while the remaining 10% was retained by the original owners, including the Etisalat Group.

The new owners of 9mobile are:

  1. Teleology Holdings Limited (led by Adrian Wood, a Nigerian entrepreneur and businessman)
  2. Mubadala Investment Company (a sovereign wealth fund of the Abu Dhabi government)
  3. Helios Investment Partners (a private equity firm with investments in Africa)
  4. Other Nigerian and international investors

The acquisition was completed in October 2018, and the new owners have since been working to revamp the business and improve its operations. Under their leadership, 9mobile has introduced new products and services, expanded its network coverage, and improved customer service.
