7 new wonders of the world 2019

The New7Wonders of the World is a list of the seven most remarkable man-made structures in the world, as chosen by a poll of over 100 million people. The original list was compiled in 2007, and in 2019, a new list of the New7Wonders of the World was announced. Here are the 7 new wonders of the world announced in 2019:

  1. The Great Wall of Gorgan (Iran) - A 121-mile-long wall built in the 3rd century BC to protect the Persian Empire from invaders.
  2. The City of Petra (Jordan) - An ancient city carved into the sandstone cliffs of Jordan, dating back to the 6th century BC.
  3. The Colosseum (Italy) - A 1st-century Roman amphitheater that could hold up to 50,000 spectators and hosted gladiatorial contests, animal hunts, and public executions.
  4. The Christ the Redeemer (Brazil) - A 98-foot-tall Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, built in the 1930s.
  5. The Machu Picchu (Peru) - An Inca citadel built in the 15th century, abandoned before the arrival of the Spanish, and rediscovered in the 20th century.
  6. The Chichén Itzá (Mexico) - A Mayan city built in the 6th century AD, featuring pyramids, temples, and ball courts.
  7. The Angkor Wat (Cambodia) - A 12th-century temple complex built in the Khmer Empire, featuring intricate carvings and bas-reliefs.

These seven wonders were chosen from a list of 21 finalists, which were selected from over 200 nominations. The winners were announced on December 7, 2019, in Lisbon, Portugal.
