5 new banks licensed by cbn

As of my knowledge cutoff in 2022, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has licensed the following 5 new banks:

  1. GreenBank Plc: Licensed on November 24, 2021, GreenBank Plc is a new generation bank that aims to provide innovative financial solutions to individuals, businesses, and governments.
  2. Proptech Bank Limited: Licensed on December 14, 2021, Proptech Bank Limited is a digital bank that focuses on providing financial services to the real estate sector, including mortgage financing, property management, and other related services.
  3. Afrinvest Microfinance Bank Limited: Licensed on January 18, 2022, Afrinvest Microfinance Bank Limited is a microfinance bank that aims to provide financial services to low-income individuals and small businesses.
  4. Fidelity Bank (Ghana) Limited: Licensed on February 22, 2022, Fidelity Bank (Ghana) Limited is a subsidiary of Fidelity Bank Ghana, a leading commercial bank in Ghana. The new bank aims to provide a range of financial services to individuals, businesses, and governments in Nigeria.
  5. Mortgage Bank of Nigeria Limited: Licensed on March 15, 2022, Mortgage Bank of Nigeria Limited is a specialized bank that focuses on providing mortgage financing and other related services to individuals and businesses.
