2019 election inec concludes recruitment of 814453 ad hoc staff

According to reports, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria concluded the recruitment of 814,453 ad hoc staff for the 2019 general elections.

The recruitment process, which began in October 2018, was aimed at ensuring that the electoral body had a sufficient number of personnel to conduct the elections smoothly and efficiently.

The ad hoc staff recruited included:

  1. Presiding Officers (POs)
  2. Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs)
  3. Polling Officers (POs)
  4. Assistant Polling Officers (APOs)
  5. Collation Officers (COs)
  6. Returning Officers (ROs)

The recruitment process was conducted in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and other relevant agencies.

The 2019 general elections in Nigeria were held on February 16, 2019, for the presidential and National Assembly elections, and on March 2, 2019, for the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

INEC's decision to recruit a large number of ad hoc staff was aimed at ensuring that the elections were conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner, and that the results accurately reflected the will of the Nigerian people.
