In preparation for the upcoming Youth Olympics Games qualifier scheduled for December in Lagos, the Nigeria Modern Pentathlon Federation has commissioned a media/Publicity Committee.
President of the federation and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Jonathan Nnaji, stated that the 2018 Olympics games is a media event, which Nigeria cannot but give the due attention it deserved, hence, its constitution and appointment of a chairman in the person of Frank Ilaboya. He said the global qualifiers are holding across the continent.
The executive committee which Ilaboya chairs consists of other members such as include, Andrew Ekejiuba , Gowon, Akpodonor, Festus Abu, Joe Apu, Jacob Ajom, Ajibade Olusegun Blessing, Adeola Omokhivie (NTA) Promise Efoge (TV Continental), Niran Adesina (Silver Bird Television) and Patrick Ibeh of Metro Sports, secretary to the committee.
Frank Ilaboya, in his speech, said the eleven-man committee drawn from the print and broadcast media, has the responsibility to deliver on its mandate. The committee held its first meeting at the national stadium in Surulere Lagos.
