Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party, YPP has emerged winner of Anambra South Senatorial seat.

Mr. Ubah, a former governorship candidate in the state defeated his closest rival, Chris Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 62, 462 votes.

Announcing the result at the collation centre in Nnewi North local government area, M.N Umenweke, the returning officer, said Mr Ubah emerged the winner among the 26 candidates who contested for the ticket.

Twitter users have however taken to their various handles to react to the news as they described Ifeanyi as a “grassroots man”.

According to a user, he noted he understands why Ifeanyi Ubah won in Anambra. She noted that enough people there can point to one or two things he’s done already to improve their lives as he’s been doing the groundwork for the better part of a decade.
