Rapper Cardi B won Best Rap Album, the first GRAMMY of her career, for her debut album, Invasion Of Privacy, at the 61st Grammy Awards which took place last night.
She gave a special shout out to her daughter, Kulture, during her acceptance speech. “It was very long nights,” she said about making her album while pregnant..
It was gathered that the rapper also gave a shout out to artists that collaborated with her on the album
Other nominees in the category include Swimmingby Mac Miller, Victory Lap by Nipsey Hussle, Daytona by Pusha T and Astroworld by Travis Scott.
This has, however, caused a Twitter rant on social media as some rap fans took offence to Invasion of Privacy winning the top rap prize as they deemed it unworthy as a rap compilation. Others used the opportunity to bring up the comparison between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj (who has never won a Grammy). Cardi’s fans, however, claim she is far better than Nicki Minaj.
