Tinubu Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos has remanded three senior secondary pupils in a juvenile home for alleged gang rape.
The SS1 pupils were said to have raped a 15-year-old classmate during a visit to her house.
The pupils who were arraigned before the magistrate court n Wednesday, January 9, 2019, are facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, unlawful carnal knowledge, sexual assault, and defilement.
The Chief Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, however, ordered the boys be remanded at Borstal Training Institution in Adigbe Abeokuta, Ogun State pending advice by the Director of Public Persecutions.
Prosecuting Sergeant Hafsat Ajibode said the boys committed the offences last July at Makoko, Yaba, Lagos Mainland.
She said; “The boys claimed that they came to visit their classmate at her house while her parents were not around.
“They offered her a drink, which was suspected to contain sleeping pills and that was the last the girl remembered when she became conscious.
“When she regained consciousness, she discovered that she was naked and bleeding, while the boys had disappeared.
“She raised the alarm, which led to the arrest of the accused.
“The girl has been traumatised and hospitalised as a result of the incident,” she added.
