The Dogg father is set to make his live theatrical debut in a play called Redemption of a Dogg featuring R&B star Toni Braxton’s sister Tamar Braxton.
The play is reportedly written, directed and produced by playwright, producer and director Je’Caryous Johnson and apparently follows Snoop – whose real name is Calvin Broadus – and his internal struggle between preserving his life-long legacy and losing the love of his life.
His recent gospel album, Bible of Love, plus a few more of his well-known back catalogue will reportedly serve as the play’s soundtrack.
It debuts in Houston, Texas on 15 October and tours the US before ending off in November in Washington D.C.
The rapper actually starred as a wheelchair-using drug dealer opposite Denzel Washington in Training Day in 2001.
