The newly-inducted king Misuzulu ka Zwelethini’s coronation was a star-studded affair for royals – and many are convinced a Shaka Zulu lookalike – or at least actor Henry Cele – was amongst them.

…except for one small problem. The larger-than-life star – often confused for the Zulu King  – died in 2007.

Royals from Malawi, Swaziland, and Zambia attended the official coronation at the KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal.

While pics and clips from the coronation trended on Saturday, so did an interesting pic of what appeared to be a man resembling the late Henry Cele

Many claimed they could see a “clone” of the actor, who famously portrayed Shaka Zulu on the popular SABC series, on stage amongst the reigning Zulu king.

With dark skin and chiseled features, the man bore a striking resemblance to the acclaimed actor. Interestingly, Misuzulu is a direct descendant of Shaka Zulu.

Here’s what tweeps had to say about the bizarre sighting.

@Nattie_Radebe: “The signs are everywhere. This is the rightful Zulu King”

@ladyMarthas: “The prophecy has been fulfilled”

@Manyosi_S: “Shaka Zulu and Tupac are still out there”

@Pazo2205: “O! Snap… Shaka himself came through”

But while Twitter conspiracy theorists have it all wrong, one question still remains – who is the mystery man?

According to reporter Sonny Jermain, the Shaka Zulu/Henry Cele lookalike is actually King Mpezeni of Malawi.
