About seven persons have been reported injured in Rafiki and Dutse Kura communities of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State following an attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Wednesday (today).
The Punch reports that although the number of deaths has not been confirmed, it was however learnt that one of the persons shot by the assailants has been declared missing.
The youths in the communities were said to have entered the bush looking for him following speculations that he may have been killed.
This information was contained in a Whatsapp message sent to The Punch by Lawrence Zongo, the president of Miango Youths Development Association.
He said, “There was a fresh attack this (Wednesday) morning around 6:30am.
“More than seven people have been seriously injured by Fulani terrorists. One person is missing.
“We appreciate the efforts of the management of Enos Hospital and Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos for taking time in treating the injured ones.”
The Punch reported that calls, SMS and WhatsApp messages sent to the spokesperson of Plateau State Police Command, Matthias Tyopev, to confirm the incident are yet to be replied.
