Severe Weather Alerts

IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

1.Yellow Level 2 warning for disruptive waves resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea and localised disruption of small harbours is expected between Alexander Bay and Cape Agulhas on Saturday subsiding in the evening (03/07/2022).

2.Yellow level 1 for damaging winds resulting in localised damage to settlements and some transport routes and vehicles affected by fallen trees is expected over Dr Beyers Naude LM, Inxuba Yethemba LM and Blue Crane Route (western interior of the Eastern Cape).

FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

1.Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Kai! Garib, Kareeberg and Emthanjeni Local municipality of the Northern Cape today and over the Emthanjeni local municipality of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Fine and cool.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy on the Highveld, otherwise fine and cool but warm in the Lowveld.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Party cloudy in the west spreading to the central parts by the afternoon, otherwise fine and cool but warm in the Lowveld and along the escarpment.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool.

Free State:

Temperature: Fine and cold to cool, but partly cloudy in places over the eastern parts.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool to cold.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north-westerly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool to cold with light rain in the west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north-westerly to westerly, but strong along the south-west coast in the morning.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half – Partly cloudy and cool, but cloudy in the east. Isolated showers and rain are expected in places along the coast.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south westerly, but light north westerly in places.

The Eastern half -Fine and warm along the Wild Coast, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but cold in the north. It will become cloudy with light rain in the south west from evening.

The Eastern half -The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north westerly, becoming south easterly in the afternoon.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Fine and cool but warm in the east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate northerly to north-easterly in the north, otherwise gentle north-westerly
